And you thought Halloween was scary!
Saturday, October 4

It's that creepy time of year when people are more uneasy than ever, dreading the horrifying things lurking around the corner. You guessed it. I'm talking about midterms! But despite all the stress that comes with exams, I have to say things have really been looking up lately.

As crazy as this sounds, I'm actually getting along with my roommate, Rebecca. Recently, she's really come out of her shell. She even comes with me to some of the parties around campus. Don't get me wrong; we still have our differences. But that's okay…who wants to be exactly the same anyway? =P

I've also managed to settle in to campus life pretty nicely. When I first got here I thought I'd never find my way around. Seemed like I was late for every class for the first couple of weeks. I swear I thought I was directionally-challenged... LOL! Well, now I know this place like the back of my hand. Including where to get the best mocha frappacinos for those late night cramming sessions. =P

And I can't believe how many cool friends I've made here already. Of course, I haven't lost touch with my friends back home. It may seem strange, but in a way, I think we're even closer than ever. Thank you, IM, text messaging and email!!!

And speaking of thanks, I owe my BFF Donna big time. She introduced me to this great new cleanser that she uses, and my skin has never been clearer! Yay! :) The best part is I not only ended up making it to that party I mentioned last time, but OMG I met a real cutie named Justin. <3

He's an awesome guy. Super sweet, has tons in common with me and he has amazing taste (he likes me after all!). He's even in the same program I'm in. Different classes mind you, but that's probably for the best. Of course, all this may leave you wondering, "What about Trent?"

Trent who?...

Anyway, I better get back to studying for midterms. School's getting busier so I can't promise I'll be blogging anytime soon.

Thanks for keeping in touch!

xoxo Ashley

Fall is Here!
Saturday, September 6

School is officially in session, so let the craziness begin!!! =P

Well, despite the fact that my life is more hectic than ever, I have to say I'm really liking the whole university thing. I never realized how cool going to school could be. I mean, the professors actually treat you like an adult...unlike certain high school teachers I know. It looks like I'll have to work my butt off this year, but honestly, even that has me kinda excited. I've barely started the semester and I'm already totally exhausted...but it's not from the workload yet - it's from the PARTYING! I've never been so busy meeting so many new people in my entire life! I guess that's what campus life is all about: working hard and playing harder ;)

So the one thing I'm not totally sure about yet is my roommate Rebecca. She's a Fine Arts student, and actually a pretty decent artist from what I can tell. The only thing is, I'm kinda worried that we might be too different. It's hard to tell at this point though, b/c I haven't spent all that much time with her yet. We're on totally opposite schedules so she doesn't chill much with me and the other girls. Hopefully she'll come out of her shell soon...

On a more positive note, I've been staying in touch with Trent. <3 And despite all the cute boys around me, I actually really miss him. Unfortunately, he's not making things any easier. He's constantly hinting that life would be better if I just went to a school closer to home. I should be flattered I guess - he's obviously helpless without me! =P

Here's the major dilemma though: there's this amazing party coming up this weekend. It happens every year and is legendary around these parts. But wouldn't you know it - all this stress seems to have culminated in a monster zit on the end of my nose! I can't show up with a schnoz like this. I just can't! I have a bad feeling I'm going to be spending Saturday night with a tub of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream :'(

I'll keep you posted...

I'm baaaaaaack!
Sunday, August 10

Hey, everyone! I know it's been a while, but my life's been a little hectic. So much for having the summer off. I need to get back to school to take a break LOL!

So here's a recap...
I got a summer job as a pet groomer, which I was totally excited about b/c I love animals. It's kinda cool because I really like all the people I am working with. But there's one huge downside... THE PET OWNERS! I never imagined in a million years that the owners would be so high maintenance. If everything isn't just so... they totally freak out. I mean cut me some slack...I'm new at this! It also doesn't help that the pay is a little less than I was hoping for. Oh, well. The craziest owners do seem to be the best tippers. So who knows? I might just make enough cash to pay for my books next year!

Oh, and remember the cute guys I saw at the bike trail? Well, despite a few "coincidental" return trips, I never saw any of them there again. But I was rollerblading in the park a couple of days ago, and I bumped into one. Literally! ROFL! His name is Trent. And he's not only really good looking, he's totally cool about everything. I mean most guys wouldn't be comfortable with having the wind knocked out of them by a chick half their size. ;)

Since then, things have moved pretty quickly. Trent and I have been hanging out a lot. Some might say almost too much. "Some" being my girlfriends. I can't believe how quickly summer is flying by. Just my luck. I meet a really great guy just in time to pack up for university and say goodbye. :-(

Oh, well. At least I have our Girls Weekend to look forward to. Donna's parents have agreed to give us full run of their cottage on the weekend, so it should be a blast!! I'll let you know what kind of craziness we get into... I may even post some pics. If they're not too incriminating! Hahaha! Til then, ciao! xoxo

School's Out!
Saturday, June 28

Hello out there.... Welcome to my World.... Or should I say my blog? Anyway, I've decided to start this in an effort to document this wild and crazy mania I refer to as my life LOL. I realize I'm not the only one making the jump from high school to university. But if just one person gets a little something out of my adventures — whether it's an insight or just a laugh — then my work is done here! :)

Summer's here, and I can't tell you how glad I am to be done with high school. And for the first time ever, I may be looking forward to the fall more than summer. Okay, before you freak out, let me explain. This fall I'm heading to university. So this isn't just your average back to school year. We're talking the full going to school away from home experience. Imagine.... a new town, new friends, new hangouts. And who knows? Maybe a new guy or two! ;)

On the other hand, the whole university thing is a bit intimidating. I'm sure high school will seem like a breeze in comparison. I mean, my older brother constantly complained about ALL the exams and papers he always seemed to be writing. Then again, due to his unnatural obsession with video games...., I have to question his power of rational thought. Why do guys do that?!?

But enough of that. There's plenty of sun and fun to be had before I conquer university! When I'm not pounding the pavement looking for that elusive, well-paying summer job, my best friend Donna and I have made a pact to spend as much time as possible at the beach. And I'm pleased to say that so far, we've made good on that promise! So, yeah. It's already looking like an amazing summer!

Just yesterday, Shelley, Donna and I were biking on this trail, and we ran into a bunch of ppl we hadn't seen since elementary school. It was so great catching up on what everyone was up to for the summer and next year. Oh, and there was also a bunch of really cute guys that went by, but I couldn't exactly excuse myself from the conversation to chat them up. We may just have to hit that trail again some day... =P Until then, ttyl!
