Facial Moisturizing
What to Look For in a Daily Moisturizer
A daily moisturizer should suit your skin type, everyone is different. A
good moisturizer has a balance of humectants and emollients. The humectants
attract water up to the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin), while
the emollients trap water and soften skin.
If a moisturizer contains an unbalanced level of humectant to emollient which
can be found in many common moisturizers you may be accelerating the drying effect
of your skin by encouraging water to the surface but not sealing that moisture
in.
Above all you need to use a moisturizer that does not contain ingredients that will potentially irritate your skin. Some of the most common chemical ingredients include sodium-based emulsifiers, SLS, alcohol, parabens, lanolin, colour, dyes, and fragrance.
Spectro HydraCare contains a balance of humectants and emollients to provide effective and long-lasting moisturization. It is fragrance & colour free, non-greasy and non-comedogenic.
