Facial Moisturizing
The Science of Spectro HydraCare
Spectro HydraCare Facial Moisturizers contain Safflower Oleosomes a unique ingredient used to deliver long-lasting moisturization to the skin without irritating skin or disrupting its natural lipid barrier.
Oleosomes are oil droplets that are found naturally in plant seeds and can be used in facial skin care products to deliver moisture to the skin . Oleosomes are present in virtually all seeds, but certain types of seeds (such as the Safflower) have higher levels of these droplets than others making them ideal to use in facial moisturizers.
Spectro HydraCare contains the Safflower Oleosome. When HydraCare is applied to the skin the safflower oleosomes release tiny particles. These particles are a unique balance of humectants and emollients that work to hydrate skin. Specifically, the humectants attract water up to the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin), while the emollients trap water and soften skin. The particles can burst on contact and deliver moisturization immediately or they can remain intact to deliver hydration later.
Safflower oleosomes are also self emulsifiers. What this means
is that the degree to which your skin will be irritated when moisturizer is
applied will be much less than in your typical facial moisturizer. This
means that Spectro HydraCare is non-irritating to your skin, and the safflower
oleosomes in it are able to deliver long lasting moisturization even for sensitive
skin.
