Ask Spectro About Spectro Cleansers
- Where can I use Spectro® cleansers?
- Spectro® cleansers are gentle enough for daily use
and can be used on your face, hands, and entire body.
- How do I use Spectro® cleansers?
- Apply the Spectro® cleanser to dry or wet skin. It is important to
gently rub in a circular motion for 30 seconds to maximize the removal
of dead skin cells, oil, dirt, makeup and bacteria. Rinse away Spectro
and the dirt etc. with warm (not hot) water or wipe it off with a tissue.
- How often should I use Spectro® cleansers?
- Use everyday in the morning and at night. In the morning to remove dead
skin and bacteria, and in the evening to remove dirt, oil and makeup providing
hydration to the skin.
- What do the ingredients in Spectro Jel® and Spectro Derm® do?
- Spectro® cleansers contain surfactants, moisturizers,
preservatives, binding agents, pH modifiers, and purified water:
-
Surfactants work to penetrate into the pores and gently
lift and surround bacteria, dirt and excess oil away from
the skin for easy removal.
-
Spectro® Cleansers contain a silicone class surfactant,
dimethicone, that acts to gently remove debris, oil, and
microorganisms with minimal disruption to the skin's natural
moisture barrier.
-
Moisturizers, both emollients and humectants, help restore
water to the skin and help revitalize the damaged skin barrier.
Preservatives protect the product against bacterial growth.
Binding agents hold the formulation together and are designed
to work optimally with the other ingredients. pH Modifiers
control the pH of the product.
- Why is Fragrance Free important?
- Fragrance Free means that there are no additional scents /
perfumes added to the product as fragrance can be a potentially irritating
ingredient to your skin.
- Why are Spectro® cleansers non-foaming?
- Certain ingredients in cleanser formulations act as surfactants which work
to penetrate into the pores and gently lift and surround bacteria, dirt and
excess oil away from the skin for easy removal. Spectro cleansers are non-foaming
because they use a silicone class surfactant, dimethicone, which helps provide
a deep clean with minimal disruption to the skin's natural moisture barrier.
Spectro cleansers do not contain sodium lauryl sulphate a common surfactant
which has foaming properties, as this is a potentially irritating ingredient
on skin.
- Who can use Spectro® cleansers, and which Spectro® product is right for me?
- Spectro® cleansers are ideal for all members of the family even for
the delicate skin of babies. Spectro Jel® is designed for oily to normal
skin and is great for sensitive, problem prone skin affected by acne,
rosacea, and tender skin (e.g. mild diaper rash). Spectro Derm® is designed
for dry and/or sensitive skin and is suitable for dry skin, dermatitis,
eczema, sun damaged and mature skin.
- What is the difference between Spectro Jel® and Spectro Derm®?
- Spectro Jel® has been designed for oily to normal skin. Spectro Derm® contains
extra moisturizers to assist with rehydrating and moisturizing dry and/or
sensitive skin.
- Are Spectro® cleansers available outside Canada?
- Not at this time. Spectro® cleansers were developed in Canada, by
a Canadian pharmacist to meet the needs of his customers. At this time
Spectro cleansers are available for purchase only in Canada.
